One Gloomy morning, Nadira Surwandi finds her mother has committed suicide. The death o Nadira's mother Kemala Yunus, an axpressive, free thinking woman who always stuggled to fing her own self, comes as a shock.
Kemala death influences Nadira's life as a girl ("sky painting"), ajournalist ("prayer beads), a lover ("Longest Kiss") and a wife, and brings Nadira into an exploration of a new world, an untouched world of sexuality ("Kirana"). In the last two stories within this collection, "Before the sun rises" and "Form New York to Legian", we delve deeper into Nadira's inner world.
